Hello CERT State Leads Workgroup,

Attached and below is upcoming virtual and in-person CERT training, including the new CERT Guide to Community Preparedness. If you take the course, please be sure to provide feedback on the post training survey. This is a new course and I noticed there were a few glitches (for example when the class is first displayed the screen was blank, in which case click on the play button in the bottom left corner for the training to begin) but overall the training is great! Be sure to download the workbook that corresponds with the course.

New CERT Course Aims to Strengthen Communities

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers are vital to their communities, ready to jump in to help before, during, and after disasters. As FEMA works to build resilient communities across the nation, CERT volunteers can now play an even larger role thanks to a new online course. The CERT Guide to Community Preparedness course was designed to help CERT Program Managers and Coordinators learn more about the preparedness aspects of emergency management with a particular focus on community. To foster interest in community preparedness, CERTs need to understand the whole community approach. This brings residents, first responders, community leaders, and government together to take action and build more resilient communities. Learn about this approach and more in the CERT Guide to Community Preparedness course. Read more… Please feel free to share with others……..
