A Message from the NCA!

Hello NCA members,

As you may know, California worked with QuickSeries on the Original CERT Field Operations Guide.  This was originally a California centric project, and we solicited photos from California CERT programs to include in the guide.  Today, most of the pictures featured in the guide are still from California CERT programs.

Two years ago, I had discussions with QuickSeries on creating another guide, geared toward CERT disaster deployment, which is currently being called the CERT Companion Guide.  The guide would provide the reader an overview on Disaster Deployment as a CERT Volunteer, which could be useful as a training tool as well as a resource during a disaster deployment.

We are hoping that this guide will be ready to be shown at the 2023 National CERT Conference.

We would like to include pictures from CERT programs across the US.  If you would like to submit a photo for inclusion into the Companion Guide or the next update of the CERT FOG, please send me an email at suuva@nationalcert.org.  I will send you a link to upload your photos along with a photo release form.

Photos should be action photos of CERT volunteers performing the hands-on skills that are taught during CERT basic or CERT volunteers performing tasks during disaster response.  Tasks could include shelter operations, call center support, traffic management, disaster assessment, data gathering, etc.

QuickSeries has a partnership agreement with the NCA which will provide the NCA with 7% of the sales of the CERT FOG.  An additional 50% of that commission will be given to the NCA as QuickSeries Sponsorship of the National CERT Conference for that year.  QuickSeries will honor this for the CERT Companion guide as well.

Thanks
